Assigning categories to new items takes forever.

So I have a large number of categories due to the nature of my products (About 185 categories for ~800 products), and I've found in the past few weeks or so, when building new items, when using the "choose categories" option within "Edit Item" I've had to wait longer and longer when I click Save to assign the categories. I timed it today, and it's around 25 seconds that the browser will lock up before closing the Choose Categories window and applying the change.
I wonder if this is a global issue, or if this is something unique to my situation?

Either way, I'd like to see if something can't be done about it, as I didn't have this issue a couple months ago at all, with not many less products.

We have over 2000 items and I can confirm it is much slower then having a few items.  I don't think Square is capable of handling lots of items or Square is made for low item count.

@BCAnime so sorry for the trouble. I'm super impatient so I totally understand the frustration. 

Do you experience a lag with other browsers? Also, have you cleared you browser history then restarted your device? Wouldn't be a bad idea to troubleshoot your internet as well.

The issue did actually resolve after a few weeks, and I had discussed it with support. I did reload, clear cache, and update, to no avail, but it seems like something on the server side got updated and the problem finally went away on its own some time ago
