Having enabled pickup, I have said pickup can be any Monday between 7:15pm and 9:00pm.
I also said we need 2 business days to prepare the order.
When I try it out, I am told the next pickup date is the 15th November. Why does it not show the 8th November? It looks like your calculation of the next pickup date is a bit off.
My site is gmnscoutshop.square.site if you want to see it.
Thanks for any advice
Alan
Trying it out, it appears that the two business days is from the pickup date (which is next Monday) and not from the date the order was entered (today). I made it 1 business day as a delay and it did the same thing.
This does not seem right to me. Can you check your calculations?
Alan
You’ve set your businesses days to once a week…. So one businesses day will end up being one week.
sounds like it’s totally working as expected 👍
Hi @alansh, thanks for your post. From what you describe, this sounds like the expected behaviour at this time.
The prep time takes into account when the business is open for pickup or delivery. In this case, it sounds like pickup is only available on Monday, so the business is only open for one day per week. As such, instead of showing next week (8th November) as the pickup date, the customer will see it as 15th Nov since the system is using the 8th as the one-business prep day.
In this case, if you change the prep time to less than 2 hours and keep the pickup date as Monday only, you should see 8th Nov coming up as the pickup date. As the pickup timeframe is only 1h45 minutes, I'd recommend setting the prep time to perhaps 30 minutes or 1 hour.
Tray,
While the business is only open for one day (actually, one evening), we can do prep outside business hours. Is there a way to allow for this?
regards
Alan
There isn't a way to set prep time without it being linked to the business hours at the moment @alansh. I'd recommend playing around with setting the prep time to less than 1h45 minutes.
Alternatively, you can switch off the feature to calculate & assign pickup time automatically. Instead, you can create a message and let customers know their orders will take 2 days and can be collect on the Monday, with additional instructions.
Yes, that is what I have done. I have created a message on the Home page. Is there a way I can put the message in the email that they get?
regards
Alan
If you have turn off the automatic assignment for orders, you can add a short message and additional instructions which will be included in the order confirmation email that customers received @alansh.
Brilliant. I hadn't seen that.
Thank you
Alan
