I have been doing palmistry and tarot card readings for many years and my entertainment agents were asking me to learn something new so they can hire me out more. I looked around and found Lipsology. The idea of reading lip prints intrigued me so I reached out to the founder and found out that she was teaching at that time. She asked me a number of questions and discovered that I was an excellent candidate for learning Lipsology. It took about a year to learn all of the 25 categories and over 100 subcategories of lip print types. I was certified over 11 years ago now. Lipsology is fascinating and fun and amazingly accurate. A few years after I was certified as a Lipsologist I became a certified Lipsology teacher. The first one in the world. This is part of why there’s only nine Certified Lipsologists in the world. We are working on increasing that number. Jilly retired about three years ago and myself and the other certified teacher of Lipsology, Laura, are now moving Lipsology forward into its future as the owners of the business. I’ve always wanted to use different systems of assessment of personality to help people shine in their lives and grow. This system does all of that anymore. It’s wonderful for parties and it’s also wonderful for private readings. It’s a very versatile and accurate and fun system that Jilly came up with. All of us who are certified Lipsologists Continue to add to the system of personality profiling. You could say I’m passionate about reading kisses.
@lipsology That is so fascinating, thank you for sharing! Do you ever do remote Lipsology sessions with pictures of lip prints, or do you need to be physically present?
I do virtual events and private readings all the time with Lipsology. If you or someone you know would like to find out more, please do contact me! [email protected]
P.S.
to answer the rest of your question, you can hold your lip prints up to your Webcam and I can interpret the lip prints from there. Also, you could send the lip prints in advance of the party or reading if it’s private and then I can go over what I see in your lip prints in more detail. If you’re having a party it’s easiest just to let everyone show their lip prints to their WebCam. I can then do what’s called a screen grab and they don’t have to hold their lip prints up for five minutes which is how long a reading usually is for a party. I can always go longer if you have fewer people at a virtual party, or in person for that matter. If it’s a private reading, my minimum amount of time is 15 minutes.
Hello everyone. We have the top rated boutique hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska and will be opening more in Kansas City, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland over the next couple of years. We started using Square this year for our Lounge. So far we are pretty happy with Square, but we have run into some road blocks mainly with Split checks, Split Tips and Reports. Has anyone else been able to overcome a split check (i.e., 2 guests want to split their lounge bill)? We are also being forced to combine employees as a Team Member in order to split tips, whereas we prefer to keep each individuals separate (for security purposes). Any suggestions on that would be appreciated.

I'm excited to be connecting with my fellow family entertainers! I'm Marcie The Balloon Fairy and have been interacting with kiddos with balloons and magic since 2005. It's been and exciting career of over 3,000 appearances over the last 17 years!
As many of us did in 2020, I have started another business called Indeed the Time is Now where I help the world get unstuck and shift to the next level, including with supplemental insurance policies and funeral guidance as an End of Life Doula and future Funeral Director. My favorites are the Short Term Disability, Accident and Legal. My number is 828-423-2030 if anyone would like to talk shop about family entertainment &/or business in general. I love marketing and have a unique way of looking at things.
I'm looking forward to reading others post and connecting with others!
Wishing all of you the best day yet,
Marcie The Balloon Fairy
Hi @BalloonFairyMar! I love the title of your post! 😊
Wow, that is quite a pair of businesses - I am curious about how you balance the two! Do you have any tips to share on juggling such different lines of work?
Thanks for your sweet response and that is a great question! Currently my schedule is even crazier as I am in school for funeral services, taking continuing education classes for my insurance license, learning the policies with the new company I am working with along with actually twisting balloons and helping families with insurance and of course I have a personal life. Whew, how do I keep the balance? Currently, making list each night as I am winding down my day so I can get it out of my head and be able to sleep is my best source of organizing. My friend does time blocking where everyday she gets up at 4:30, exercise, breakfast with her husband, then they go to their home offices at 7, lunch at noon, etc. She is incredibly successful, and I look forward to being that focused. Also, I had a business coach tell me that I needed to take at least one day off, no work, no phone calls, no laundry, etc. just what I considered fun time. I asked what he meant and he said, "Most people take 2 days off per week, you, Marcie, are not even taking one day off per month!" It was a shocking truth. I just took about an hour feeding the birds and squirrels, pulling weeds, taking a treat and water out to the mailbox for the mail person and enjoyed every bit of it as I was walking barefoot and greeting the new plants and flowers. Now off to work! Hope you found some insight in this ElisabethB.
Wishing you the best day yet,

Welcome @BalloonFairyMar!
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate with all this work - it's great to hear about what you're doing and I hope you enjoy your time here on the Seller Community : )
Thanks Matt! It would be interesting to have a conversation about the pronouns you choose to be called. I have a Biology degree and raised my kiddos in Asheville, NC and enjoy learning about others big picture of life.
Wishing you the best day yet,
Marcie The Balloon Fairy
I think it is wonderful that you are doing so many wonderful things! I have a couple of friends who are musicians that moved to the Ashville area. Are you still there after raising your kiddos? I'm so glad you are getting into the business of being a funeral director. I'm especially interested in Aquamation and wish I could find someone who is doing this in Maryland (where I live) because it's so much better than cremation for the environment. If you ever hear of someone doing this wonderful work in Maryland, please let me know!

Greetings! For the past seven years we have been doing private, captained sailing charters out of Marina Del Rey, CA on our Jeanneau 44DS sailboat. Fifty-two of our 51 TripAdvisor reviews have earned five stars. We do zero marketing other than our web site and personal contact with concierges at all the 4- and 5-star hotels in Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Marina Del Rey. Let me know if you have any questions about the charter business.

Hello everyone. I'm just introducing myself here. I'm Ester Lopez, an author (writing on the edge of reality). I write sci-fi and paranormal adventure romances and children's books. I'm also a publisher and I like to do crafts and photography as well, and I incorporate those in my business. I've been using Square for a while, taking my books and crafts on the road to book signing events. I'm trying to find a more cost effective way to market my books without traveling as much. www.esterlopez.com
Hey everybody!
I have a face painting business (and body) in the Los Angeles area. I’m located in Santa Clarita Valley, but travel to Ventura County, Palmdale/Lancaster, and most areas of LA. I work at festivals, fairs, private parties, corporate events, school events, grand openings, city events, studios, and basically any public event that would like to draw a crowd. Advertising a face painter at your event definitely brings in the crowds! It’s a type of entertainment that just make people happy! Yes, face and body painting IS REALLY a career when you’re a professional at this craft. People seem to ask “what’s your real job though?” THIS IS MY REAL JOB! When you’re a professional at this, you’re not just someone that decides one day that you’re going to buy some face paints at Hobby Lobby and make a few extra dollars. Professional face painters are highly trained artists. I even have a degree in art. We travel to conventions and workshops all over the world, participate in jams, carry insurance, and most importantly…..we don’t use those cheap so-called “face paints” that you find in your local stores. Those literally ARE paint and contain lead, which have caused many severe reactions to kids skin….not to mention the glitter in your local stores are made from METAL. You can imagine what happens when that accidentally gets in a kid’s eye. Professional face painters use FDA approved-for-skin, cosmetic-grade, hypoallergenic makeup AND glitters. These are super expensive and can only be purchased online directly from the manufacturers. So if you think you’ve found a “bargain face painter” at $50 an hour for your event…. think again. Professional career face painters all charge a minimum of $100 an hour. Typically somewhere between $125-$150 an hour. You really do get what you pay for in this case. So next time you see a face painter and ask “what’s your real job? Please know that that kind of stings. We invest a lot of time and money in this form of entertainment.
Welcome to the group, @LAFacePaintier! Do you have a website or Instagram with photos of your work? I'd love to see pics if you do! 😊👨🎨
