iPad connected but not charging through Square Stand

My iPad is connected to the Square Stand and the charging icon on the right corner is green with the little lightning bolt. However, the charge of the battery keeps going down. When plugged to another cable, it charges. I also tried my iPhone on the Square Stand and it charges. Any ideas what the problem might be ?!? I just updated to the latest iOs and the latest Square app.
