Will barcode scanning capability be introduced to Square Kiosk?

What is the sentiment or idea of having the kiosk be compatible with a barcode scanner so people could do self checkout?  Would really reduce menu clutter if you have a bunch of bottle drink varieties that you want the customer to grab themselves.

Great call out here, @Donnie-M! Adding barcode scanning capability to Square Kiosk would be a great addition.

I know this is certainly on our Product Teams radar, however, I don't have any timelines to share on this right now. As soon as there's an update, we'll be sure to let you know. 🙂

@Katie_SQ on a side note,  I saw anthropic is using square kiosk in some way with the claude vending machines!!!!!!!!  I want to know more about this.  No joke though, barcode scanning could open up a multi-million dollar avenue for processing.  I'll put it this way, 200k a week in volume from unattended kiosks is no joke.  Square has a superior product if you ask me,  whoever is doing kiosks needs to contact me.

Are there any updates on this? I'm looking to use a barcode scanner on kiosk to declutter kiosk menu and also make it easier for customers.
