I send an email out every new special we do. 1/2 of the time something on Squares end will mess up. So I have been very careful to make sure I don't mess up. I am so **bleep**ed off I am shaking.
I even sent sample test emails to myself and it was ok. Then I check the scheduled email and for some reason all of my links to my live website switched to a testing back up nonsense website that was incredibly unprofessional, and NOT LIVE! There is zero reason for that to have happened.
Has anyone had issues like this? This seriously may have just ruined my business. Un believable.
So frustrating and heartbreaking. This is the 3rd email blast I have had issues with and I have tried so hard to make sure everything correct.
WHAT. THE. F***! GOD **bleep** SQUARE. I want to sue you guys for this BS. Literally effecting my small business.
Anything I can do? Anyone else? I can't unsend the 3K emails I just sent out. Any Ideas?
That is absolutely wild- I've never had an issue with square changing the links on the website. Are you using the buttons or are you using hot links (I find hot links are super buggy and use buttons instead).
So it was the buttons and I had the actual items online ordering link originally. As well as a link to one of the new mech that dropped on our Shopify. Both links changed.
the bulk email switched every link to a test website that I had created months ago for a friends shop.
it’s like it moved that test website I was working on into the default website/link.
this is the 2nd screwed up square email blast I’ve sent out. The first one had the texts on desktop view same color as background on default.
I’ve since deleted all of my back up sites so that specific issue shouldn’t ever happen again.
but I did everything I could to make sure this went out properly and it still messed up.
first time I’m looking into other POS’ in years. Incredibly disappointed with this. And it’s an issue that you can’t fix once it’s sent.
I'm not sure exactly how to help, because I have never had a link change in 100s of email campaigns we've sent out. Maybe it was because you had a link and then changed the link, and that is where the issue stems from. I have not edited links after adding them and then sending them.
For future reference if you’re not sure how to help: then proceed with a rambling response of never having issues-doesn’t help.
in fact in a situation like this: not saying anything is the most helpful.
it’s like a teacher asking a question in college and you decide to raise your hand and answer, “I don’t know.”
cool, yeah, post on a user help forum, and then when someone tries to help diagnose the issue, yell at them. I said it may be related to the fact that you have edited links, and they may have fallen back to the original, as I haven't had a link change. I don't know why they would change, as none of us here are programmers at Square. I was just observing the difference between our experiences and the different outcomes. But yeah, cool, I'll try and remember not to try to help other users who ask for help.
