Use a GSift Card then use a Credit card for the remaining balance?

I am sure I used to be able to do it where if a customer used a gift card (GC) for partial payment, the remaining could be put on a credit card.

If the charge is $10, I click pay, and then select the Gift Card option and swipe the GC and it will give me the option to pay using the card and to continue. I select that button and it takes me to a new screen telling me there is $4 remaining (if the GC is only $6) On the top of the screen there is the "next payment" option but when I click on that the "Pay By Credit Card" option is greyed out and only cash payment for the remainder is available. 

Am I losing it or has something changed, either by me or by the system not to allow this?

When splitting a payment first with a Gift Card, you should still have the option to process a card transaction. 

If you are still seeing the option as greyed out, I would suggest giving our support team a call so that they can take a closer look into this.
