Update Required Interac 1276

I am trying to issue a full refund to a client who paid using their debit card.

The first time I tried was about a week after purchase. I tried again today with the same problem. We have more than enough in our Square balance to cover the refund.

Using my Square stand (original version) I got the error "Update Required Interac 1276". Using the Square terminal, I go the error "Refund Failed. Please try again later."

The customer is using the same debit card for the refund and we tested it to make sure the PIN number works.

How do I solve this problem? My customer and I are both getting quite frustrated.

Hello @MonicasAttic - 

Completely understand the frustration with trying to process this refund for you and your customer. If you're still having this issue with the Interac payment, you have a couple of other options. 

You can issue the refund through another method of payment like cash, check, or gift card. Check out this Support Article with some more information.
