Hello,
I have recently deployed a Square Register in my hair salon. We are currently using the Square for Retail interface and it is working quite well for tracking sales commissions when selling products. Stylists can easily switch the active user by tapping in the bottom right hand corner and entering their pin codes in order to process transactions under their name and get commission for a sale, whether it be one of their regular clients or a walk-in just looking to purchase products.
I'm eager to transition to the Square Appointments interface for our POS since it offers obvious benefits for a hair salon, but I can't seem to figure out how to properly attribute sales to the various stylists for retail sales. When using the Square Appointments interface, every retail sale seems to be attributed to me since I'm the owner of the salon and the POS is signed into my account. How can stylists process a walk-in sale under their name in order to receive their commission? It's so simple in the Square for Retail interface, but I can't seem to figure out how it should work in Square Appointments.
Thanks!
Hi there @MadisonW,
Thanks for reaching out with your question, and welcome to the Seller Community! 👋
It sounds like you've managed to set up commission tracking with Square Appointments, which is great! It sounds like the issue here is that with a walk-in, these sales aren't attributed to any appointment tied to a staff member.
Can I check that you have enabled passcodes on your Square Register in addition to setting up commission tracking? This will allow your staff to log in when processing standalone sales to ensure these are tracked correctly. You can review these steps under the title 'Setting Up Team Management in SPOS' title in this support article.
Please let us know how you go with this on your end!
