Square USB Hub not picking USB devices

Yesterday, the usb hub seems to have stopped working. It still supplies power to the Square stand, but neither the scanner or printer now work. Printer has power. Scanner draws power through the hub. Tried switching on/off, readding, cycle charging. Seems a bit odd.

Everything is updated too

Any suggestions or anyone had anything like this. Or is it a new hub situ, which would be really annoying. Sits under the till and has no damage

@scruffandco That definitely sounds more like the hub partially failing than a software/update issue, especially since it’s still passing power through but not data. If both the scanner and printer stopped communicating at the same time, the USB data side of the hub may have died while the power side still works.

You said you tried unplugging them and reading? Did you happen to try them one at a time and see if the one plugged in would work? I know when troubleshooting the first thing they have you to do is try that, just incase one of the devices is bad and may be grounding out the hub.

I’ve tried everything. All troubleshooting and all options. Just weird it would fail like this?

I have this problem with one of my registers. I bought a new hub and still the problem exists so it's the register that is not powering the hub in my case. How do I report it?

If you replaced the hub and still have the issue, I would say it's in the USB port on the register.

You can check your warranty and start the process for replacement if it is still under warranty. Below is the link, if you are not already signed in, you will need to.

Hopefully your item is still under warranty and can get it replaced.

Bought a replacement hub and all is working fine now. Warranty is only 2 years, and had it for 3. Bit poor that it breaks with no reason whatsoever after this time, considering it's just a port and nothing gets taken in and out.

I know what you mean.  I wonder since just the data side went out if there may have been a power surge or something to your printer or scanner.
