Square Terminal cash drawer says zero cash collected after every night of sales.

I use a Square terminal to do delivery orders, and it runs a lot off-line. I'm a year into my business, and it was just in the last week that I started having problems. I open my cash drawer, sell lots of things over a 2 hour drive span. When I get back to internet land and go to Reports to close my cash drawer, it shows me the opening balance, and says I had zero cash sales. I have just been closing it with the closing balance being the same as the opening balance, then going to my Square dashboard reports to figure out how much cash I actually collected, but this is not going to work in May when employees start doing deliveries. Any ideas?

I know the Terminal runs off of WiFi which is why it goes into Offline mode.  Does your Cell phone also loose internet or could you turn on the HotSpot option on your phone so the Terminal can connect to the cells Hotspot to complete the transaction?  Not sure why the Cash sales do not hold in a buffer like the CC processes do.  Only thing I can think of is that the Transaction is already Processed since you took Cash and Square does not report the Cash on a 1099-K form since Square never sent you the funds.
