I have bought two square readers within days of each other and I have gotten the same error message for both when it comes to getting the firmware update.
The message is 'reader firmware update failed'
I have tried a number of different things - I would like to know what this specific message means and what to do to fix? Or do I take this square back to the store like I did the first one?

What kind of device are you trying to connect the reader to? A mobile phone, tablet, or Square Stand?
