Squade Register Performance Issues

I have multiple square registers in my store and I have a large catalog over 10,000 products. The square registers which were purchased 2 months ago have already developed performance issues with no remedy provided from the support staff. On ipads the experience is amazing and lag free but the ipads are missing crucial customer facing features such as a interactive customer display and Payment options that are customer facing without having to flip the ipad. Is there anything new coming soon in terms of square hardware that can help solve some of my performance issues while keeping customer experience in mind.

Hey @Grocerystore.  So I can NOT address the Register performance issues you are seeing.  I’m one of those sellers who is not impressed by Register and decided I would live without a customer-facing display rather than purchase Register, for lots of reasons.  HOWEVER….

 

I do have an option for using iPads with a customer-facing payment solution.  This is called Connected Terminal.  Basically, it involves using Square Terminals, connected to our POS.  When a Terminal is connected to a POS this way the Terminal becomes a customer-facing payment display.  Customers can pay using a card (swipe, tap, dip), sign up for marketing/loyalty, redeem loyalty rewards, etc. all on the terminal.  They can even print a receipt if they want it.  Of course it would involve money to purchase Terminals, a solution you might not like.

 

Anyway, if you are interested in seeing this in action, we can set up a time for us to connect via Zoom and I can show you my setup, how it works, what it can do, etc.  I can tell you that I’ve been using this solution since it was in beta testing a few years ago, so I have lots of experience with it.  My customer absolutely love it, and so do my employees.
