Seeking to employ an unattended donation terminal

I work with some Ontario NFPs who are intrigued by some unattended donation terminals that they've seen in Europe. Here are some examples...

  • The Barbican installed a single Payter terminal outside The Curve gallery back in autumn 2016 (https://www.barbican.org.uk/whats-on/tag/the-curve);
  • The National Gallery’s Mosaic Masterpiece project allows visitors to select between three donation amounts (£5, £10 and £20) before taking an image of themselves to be included on large screen display of a masterpiece. Donations are made via a WorldPay terminal (https://www.nationalgallery.org.uk);
  • The Horniman Museum in London used a simple Payter terminal to request £1 donations to support the re-display of their World Gallery (https://www.horniman.ac.uk/);
  • More recently, the Natural History Museum and Tate Modern in London have experimented with totem-style interactive kiosks using payment terminals from the UK-based company GoodBox (https://www.goodbox.com/), who were also behind the Teenage Cancer Trust trials mentioned above.

We'd like to deploy something similar. It could be a tablet device, connected to 5G or Wifi that would present a few pre-set donation options (eg $5, $10...) that would then be validated via tap from the person's CC.

Does such an item exist, leveraging Square technology?  Thanks.

Hi there @Hornetts,

That is a great question! At the moment, we don't have a self-serve point of sale system that will allow what you are looking for, but you can still accept donations on the point of sale or using our Square Online store!

Also, welcome to the Seller Community! 🥳 We are so happy to have you here. While you are here, we recommend checking out our Orientation & Etiquette. Hope this helps! 😊
