Question about Tap to Pay on iPhone vs. Android

We recently used Square for merchandise sales at a conference and had several volunteers logged into our Square account to accept payments.

Our volunteers using Android phones were able to use Tap to Pay without any issues. However, our volunteers using an iPhone was unable to accept Tap to Pay payments.  They received a message saying  “you need permission to use this feature”.

Everyone was using the same Square account.

Has anyone experienced this? Are there additional setup steps required on iPhone that are not required on Android? Could it be related to the iPhone model, iOS version, permissions, or something else?

I'd appreciate any suggestions so we can avoid this issue at future events. Thanks!

Hi @WVMN. in the Square settings (more -> settings) select ‘account’ and there you will see a switch to enable/disable “tap to pay on iPhone”.

See if that works for you.
