Anyone else's print bill function changed?
We click print bill and it only saves the ticket and prints kitchen ticket, no printing of bill. We then have to click on ticket and click print bill again.
We have always used open tickets to take order on Square POS on iPad, then click print bill. Which would print bill and kitchen ticket. We take bill out with food and then customer brings bill to register to pay. Now we have to click print bill twice to get a bill to print.
Hey there @TripleC and thanks for reaching out with your question! This does sound a little off, but I can certainly investigate this with you 🔍
Firstly, have you checked to make sure your "automatically print new orders" setting is still enabled? You can find this under
≡ More > Settings > Hardware > Printers.Then, Profiles. Click on the printer profile and toggle on Automatically Print New Orders. Lastly, make sure to Save. If this setting is already enabled, I recommend checking to see if you're on the latest version of the Square app on your iPad.
Please let me know what you find!
This is on the standard mode POS on the ipads to print bills when you make a new ticket.
Online orders do print automatically and is turned on.
It also has the latest version of the app.
Having the exact same issue since the update! It’s not too much of a hassle until it gets busy and we have to go back and print every bill.
It also won’t print the scan to pay QR code on printed receipt unless you open ticket back up and print bill again.
@jasmineseiger93 @TripleC - I'm sorry to hear you've both been experiencing this issue 😞
Have either of you contacted our Support Team about this, so they can take a look at your account and device settings? If needed, they can also escalate this further to our engineers for their review.
Yes, they said it’s supposed to be this way to allow for more flexibility in managing orders so users can save the ticket without immediately printing bill. Even though there is already a save or send button that does that. I do not understand.
