POS App in iPadOS 18.5 bugs

Hi everyone, I have issue with the POS app after the iPad upgraded to latest iOS 18.5. 

For the product items having modifiers, it will automatically have one modifier being default selected. I checked all the settings in the modifiers and unselected default modifier. It still keeps happened. Is there anyone have same issues happened? 

 

*I am using POS app for restaurant order taking.

Below, I am going to outline some troubleshooting steps to go through to see if there are continued issues with the modifiers. Please let me know if these do not work by using the "@" and then my username. This will notify me of your response! 😊

Immediate Fixes to Try:

  • Force close the Square POS app
  • Restart your iPad
  • Delete and reinstall the Square POS app

Check if you're running the latest version of Square POS

Verify Modifier Settings:

In Square Dashboard:

  • Go to Items > Modifiers
  • Check each modifier group
  • Ensure "Required" is not selected unless necessary
  • Double-check that no default options are selected
  • Verify modifier settings at both item and category levels

Check Multiple Levels:

  • Item-specific modifier settings
  • Category-level modifier settings

Additional Steps:

  • Clear the app's cache
  • Sign out and back into the POS app
  • Test with a different iPad if possible to determine if it's device-specific
  • Create a test item to see if the issue occurs with new modifiers

If none of these work please respond with the following information, so I can escalate to the engineering team😁

  • Note which specific items are affected
  • Record if it happens with all modifier groups or just specific ones
  • Take screenshots of the behavior
  • Note the exact version numbers of:
    • iOS (18.5)
    • Square POS app
    • Any recent changes to your menu items
