We depend on the notification sound to alert our staff when in incoming order is placed through on our Square Terminal. This was functioning until, at the very least, the last software update. I also had a problem where the screen would hang up saying it was printing. I ended up doing a factory reset for that and now the printing is working fine. However, we still do not get the sound notification for incoming orders.
I've seen this same problem on another thread here and it doesn't appear the problem has been resolved. I went through the procedures to ensure sound was on and at the highest level and order notifications allowed alerts.
Settings -> Hardware -> Sounds: Enable device sounds (on) and volume slider all the way up.
Settings -> Orders -> Order notifications: Allow Alerts (on); Frequency (Immediately)
I rebooted the device, then made a test order from our Square online website.
Result: There was no sound, just the order ticket printed.
