Need handheld to print to bar printer that is connected to ipad

Trying to figure out how to get the handheld device to send liquor tickets to the bar printer. Bar printer is Epson; connected to ipad stand. I am not able to aquire IP address from printer as i believe it shares IP with ipad; not sure how that works.

Sorry we miss your post @gi-liederkranz!

It sounds like you currently have a Epson printer with ethernet connection, is that correct? Or is it connecting to the iPad via a different mode (WiFi, etc.)? If you can give some more information on the model of the printer, that'd help me a lot in guiding you towards the right steps for setting up!

I did have a quick look at our printer compability checklist, and there are a number of Epson that will work with the handheld device, and some that won't. If we have the specific model, I can definitely double-check here.
