KDS is slow to receive delivery orders

Hello,

I'm having issues with our KDS (kitchen display system). When we receive orders from our food delivery apps, the paper receipt is printed instantly (printer is attached to Square POS), but the orders can take 2-10minutes to arrive to the KDS.  

 

I have have our delivery apps set to auto-accept new orders. The delivery apps have confirmed our logs that orders are arriving to our POS.

 

Not sure why the KDS is so delayed in receiving the orders.

Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks for chiming in.

 

Well I think I found the issue and I think I have to take blame for this. I do recall cleaning the KDS screen while not locking the screen and I may have toggled a setting. There was a setting turned on that restricts displaying new orders on the KDS until 15 minutes before their required ready time. Then with some food delivery service orders, the scheduled pickup time may be scheduled for a future time. Particularly during delivery service rush hour! Hence why the receipt would print without issue, but the order would not get displayed until later.

 

I hope that makes sense. Problem resolved! User Error!
