The most recent update for the Square Stand POS is causing major issues for us.. The issues I’m seeking solutions for are:
1) On cash transactions, the “change due” amount is now a fraction of the size of the total amount of the transaction, and it’s confusing during rushes. It is resulting in my staff giving customers the wrong change (the larger amount displayed) and is literally losing me money because our drawer is short.
2) on the item library page, the search bar is gone. You now need to tap the magnifying icon to search for an item. This may seem like an insignificant change on Square’s end, but during busy times, this extra step is causing a lot of extra work. I grasp that we can pin certain products to our favorites, but we frequently rotate our offerings and offer many items. We don’t need extra steps, we need to be able to search from the main screen.
3) the tipping feature has changed and is now located at the bottom of the screen after a customer completes a card transaction. It is no long straightforward and is causing customers to completely bypass this option. Tips are down and my staff isn’t happy. I am now not only losing money and time, but will end up losing my staff if this isn’t resolved.
Has anyone found solutions to any of these terrible new updates? Is anyone else having similar issues?
