How do I get my clients' names on the receipts that are issued when I take their payment?

How do I get my clients' names on the receipts that are issued when I take their payment? I have been needing to create a second invoice that has all the information on it for my clients, but this is creating an accounting nightmare for me.

Hi @lyndaleehealer - I see this is your first post in the Square Community so I'd like to officially welcome you! 🎉👏 My name is Violet and I'm one of the Moderators here. Nice to meet you! 😊

Are you currently using the Customer Directory to add your Customers to their transactions? If not, I'll provide the instructions below:

First, make sure you enable Customer management by tapping ≡ More > Settings > Checkout > Customer management > toggle Show Add Customer button during checkout ON.

  1. Tap Checkout to start a new sale.
  2. On a device using landscape view, tap Add a customer then +.
  3. On a mobile device, enter a custom amount or add items then tap Review sale > Add a customer > +.
  4. Enter your new customer’s information.
  5. Tap Save.
  6. Complete the transaction.

If you’ve completed a sale and haven’t yet tapped New Sale, you can still add your customer’s contact information.

First, make sure you enable Customer management by tapping ≡ More > Settings > Checkout > Customer management > toggle Show Add Customer button after checkout ON.

  1. From the receipts screen, tap Add Customer.
  2. Tap Create Customer > enter your customer’s information > tap Save.
  3.

You can also use the Customer Directory to add notes and file attachments to your customer's profile. Additionally, you can add Customers to your Invoices from the Directory as well.

I hope this addresses what you're looking for, but please let me know if I can answer any additional questions for you! I'll keep an eye out for your reply 👀
