How do you connect your terminal in an outdoor show ? With my phone data

If your cell phone plan offers it, you can link the terminal to your phone's hotspot. Each phone is different in how to set up the hotspot, but once you do, all you have to do is look for your phone's name in the wireless list on the terminal and enter your password. 

One thing I learned the hard way: the night before your show, have your terminal on and plugged in while on a wireless network. The terminal may need a software update, and if you get stuck at your event with the update pending, it may completely use up your hotspot data before you can even use it.

Hi, I also couldn't connect mine. How do I know if my cellphone plan offers it. I bought the cheapest terminal and we haven't make it work during the 4 markets that we do. 

What should I do please. I have tried everything.

Hi @HeyPrintsStudio !

To know if your cell plan allows hotspotting, you'll have to contact your cell phone provider. They can confirm it's available or get your account set up to have it available.

Once you've verified that, you have to enable the hotspot on your phone. I'm familiar with iOS devices, so if you have an android phone you'll have to do some research. On iOS, head to Settings -> Personal Hotspot and enable it. Choose a WiFi password. Now on your Terminal, go to More -> Settings -> Hardware -> Network, find your phone, and connect to it.

Do note that some of the initial releases of the Square Handheld had problems linking to hot spots. If that's the device you have, I recommend connecting it to a regular wifi network to get a software update. You can force an update by going to More -> Settings -> Hardware -> General -> About and tapping Check for Updates on your device.

Thank you so much for your time answering.

I will try to research more if the method didn't work.

I know we have a hotspot on our phone, we tried connecting it on our bluetooth after. It works on our house, but when outside, it didn't. We thought it's because we are connected to Wi-fi.

Might as well get the big terminal, idk if that will help.
