Connect times

So I’ve been using Square Stand for a couple of years now. But the one downside I keep having, is the delay when processing a payment in-store. 
I tap on item and tap checkout, then have to wait for the light to come on the Square Reader. Sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds and sometimes I have to manually disconnect reader from the dock, to get it to connect. 

I want to switch to the Square Terminal. 
Does anyone know if the same problem exists for the terminal POS? Or is it instantaneous, when connecting at checkout?

Sorry to hear about the trouble with your Square Reader and dock. Generally the reader should be ready to connect within a few seconds, and pair to your device. The Square Terminal is a standalone device, so customers can tap or insert their card directly on the Terminal without the need to pair it to another device. Just keep in mind you'll need to connect to Square Terminal to the internet via local wifi, or a hotspot.
