Add donation without adding a count

I have created a category for cash donations.  The amount varies so I left it open to key in any amount but each doanation adds a count and I don't want that.

by count, what do you mean?  like it is a $10 donation with a qty of 1?
all sales are going to have a qty associated with the items on it even if it is only one.

If you're talking about an inventory count, like the item is now showing -1 every time you ring it up, then toggle off tracking inside of that item.
