Add ‘donation’ item to invoices

Can anyone tell me if it is possible (as a small non-profit Sports Club) to add a suggested donation by the customer at POS (towards a specific project we have in mind to benefit our members)?

Could I also add a suggested donation as an item to every invoice we send out?

If someone could let me know the best way to achieve this, I’d be very grateful 

We use Square Online Free Plan and Invoices over four locations .

Hi Jonathan, thanks for your post. 

There isn't an automated way to add a donation to an invoice, but we do have a donation feature, so you can collect donations via checkout links. Checkout links allow you to set donation amounts, or allow customers to enter the amount they'd like to donate themselves. 

I tested this and added my link to the description of my invoice: 

There is no specific donation feature for in-person sales at the moment, but you could create a variably priced item, name it donation and add it to sales, that way customers can set it to 0 if they do not want to donate. 

Otherwise, the option would be to enable tipping.
