Verification Process bug?

I signed up to use square for card processing with my business but it says I cant take cards now because I wasn't "approved". I never got any prompt during the sign up period that says I need to upload documents to verify my identity and I also cannot deactivate my account for this very reason. Square support has been useless so far, has anyone else experienced anything like this? I hope there is a way to fix it.

Very sorry to hear about your account. These forums are public, on here we cannot provide any additional information regarding your account application. I know this is disappointing, and I wish there was something more I could do. Square offers a limited number of application attempts, you can apply up to 4 times, however, we don’t guarantee you will be approved.
