We have a restaurant and want to install self-ordering kiosks for customers.
What is the best way to go about this?
Hey there @vegetableroot!
While I doubt this is something we will see from Square anywhere in the near future, it could be possible to maybe hire a developer to use the Square Developer API to build an app for a touch screen device of your choice to build your Kiosks - just an idea and likely a lot more money and effort than you were looking to invest, what I'm guessing you're looking for is an ordering screen like the ones we have in McDonalds here in the UK: https://images.app.goo.gl/wtiP2PyZszKLVZQs7
I may be completely wrong, and you may be able to show me a better example of what it is you're looking for, but this is currently the only workaround I can think of to keep things Square while keeping the idea you want - of course it doesn't need to be quite as big and exciting as the example I show above but something more custom and fitting to your budget and theming!
If this helps, mark it as best answer to help others in the future!
Hey @vegetableroot,
While it doesn't look like this is something we're currently planning to release, I'd be happy to pass on your suggestion to our team. Alternatively, @MJD 's advice regarding engaging a developer, or trialling Grubbrrr would be a workaround.
This is what frustrates me with Square. They have the functionality and the Kiosk product in the US but won't release it here. The programming has been done already!
Kiosk beta is rolling out in Aus now, which means actual release should only be a few months away...
