Magstrip chip reader and Motorola Moto G7

New Motorola G7. Android version 9.

Magstrip chip reader connects to phone but it's unable to establish a secure connection.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled square app, turned audio from stereo to mono, disabled Moto Talk to Me, Screen reader and talk back Off....

NOTE: Mags chip reader will work on old Samsung S8..

Any further ideas?

Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the Moto G7 is tested as compatible with Square readers. We can only guarantee Square readers will work with devices we list as compatible - you can view our compatibility list here.

Yes, I did check the list and i understand that being a new phone it may not be on the list.

I need the payment device for my business and by reading other posts, even the wireless contact square device probably wont work either??  Any other payment devices besides manual inputing?
