How do i set up a payment option for Skip the Dishes and Uber Eats?

I am a small restaurant and I recently joined Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes. Just curious if anyone has been able to set up a payment option to close out these checks at the end of the day but not putting it through as cash or debit/credit.

Hi, @MacTiniBar !

Let me outline how to do this for you!

Here's how to set up custom payment types for delivery services:

  1. Configure Each Payment Type:

    • Choose "Other" payment types for the transaction
    • Make sure they're marked as "Non-Cash"
    • Enable them for your POS system
  2. Best Practices for Setup:

    • Name them clearly (e.g., "UBER EATS" and "SKIP DISHES")
    • Consider adding a prefix like "DEL-" to group them together
    • Make them easily identifiable in reports
  3. Using the Custom Payment Types: When closing out delivery orders:

    1. Ring up the order as normal
    2. Select the appropriate custom payment type
    3. Complete the transaction
  4. Reporting Benefits:

    • Track delivery service sales separately
    • Easy reconciliation with platform payments
    • Clear separation from cash/card transactions
    • Better accounting organization
  5. Additional Tips:

    • Consider creating separate categories for delivery items
    • Use modifiers to mark delivery orders
    • Set up specific tax rates if needed
    • Create quick buttons for common delivery actions

I hope this helps!

Thank you SO much for all of this information. Do you happen to know if this only works if you are paying for the Premium Square Accou t?

@MacTiniBar - you will need to type what the payment was for in the notes when you choose "other payment type" ! I was mistaken as the developers are still working on allowing custom names for other payment types.
