Display an alert at checkout for Out of stock items

When we have items out of stock Square register allows us to sell even though the products aren't on hand and inventory says 0.  We need a feature to flag the item in the cart or pop up a message that asks if you want to sell it even though it shows out of stock. Something needs to alert my sales staff to check inventory so we don't have to continue doing refunds constantly.

I use Square for Retail on the Square Register. The settings you toggled on should give the pop up warning to check inventory. I wonder if they made a change so that once you toggle the warning on that you have to also go to those items that you want to watch closer and toggle them on? Unfortunately I am at the house now so can’t play around with the register until Monday

@homeprogreen I still haven't found any additional toggles to turn on at the item level. Every new item I add to our system I have to add low stock alerts but that alert only sends me a daily email with items that are low inventory, not out of stock warnings at the checkout.

@Horns that’s weird. I know that I used to get that popup on the screen all the time. Was actually annoying for me since I had the item in my hand and scanned the barcode to add it to sale. Maybe they changed something in how it works. I will do a little more digging tomorrow when I am at the shop
