Custom Attributes Sales Reporting

I need sales reports by custom attributes. I use the text based Custom Attribute to assign each item in our inventory a GL code. It was time consuming but it was done in the hopes that I would be able to pull the sales reports by these Custom Attributes to make posting the info to our GL easier. 

 

I really need this feature and I know it's been requested a lot in the past. Please make this happen!

Going back in old threads, this has been asked for since at least 2021. I loved square at first but I'm slowly starting to see a lot of missing things that should just be standard in an inventory system.

 

why have the option to add custom attributes if you cant search reports by them, or even have them export when you export your inventory? And why say that they are working on adding it if three years later it is still a feature that doesn't exist? I have a guess. adding it doesn't make them any extra money. i hope that's not the case, but seems to be how all companies are.

Custom attributes made sense to me for another way to organize reports. We sell yarn and all of the vendors sell us products in multiple weights - from Bulky to Cobweb. The shop is arranged with yarns of the same weight together. It is much easier to take inventory of all the Bulky which is in one place, rather than all the Cascade which is in 5 different places.

 

I created a custom attribute and assigned it to 2 items then discovered that I can't report on the information. I can't even export the information to create a report.

Agree with comments to ability for reporting on custom attributes in reporting.  Also custom attributes should be able to downloaded with the export of the item library.

I agree with this also. It makes no sense as most other systems have some ability to add tags or custom fields for tracking in sales reports

I agree with what is being said. What is the use of having a custom attribute if you can’t report on it or filter? 

Please add this feature. Without it we can't properly import data to our financial system.

Product Team - PLEASE add this feature. So many have already given reasons, but I'll add ours. We run a plant nursery and each plant has custom attributes (height, width, pollination requirements, hardiness zones, native area, etc). Our business needs the ability to organize and manage these for several reasons. We need them in export we don't have to manually add CA to thousands of unique items. We need it for reporting - explained well by others. We need this because it is a basic and standard practice for any/all inventory management software besides Square. Why?

 

Currently, there is no way to make bulk changes to custom attributes, no way to export/import, no reporting capabilities, and certainly no sense of having this feature without the ability to use them. Our business, along with everyone else who has posted here and in the many other threads, could really use your help here. This service is great, but we all cannot effectively do our jobs and what we love without standard, sensical things like exporting columns!

 

Again, please revisit this issue and at the very least help us understand why this is not being added or worked on.
