at the very bottom of a customer's profile is listed additional information created with a date and source is third party. What or who is the third party? I guess my question is how is this customer adding their info to the directory by a third party? This same customer is stating that she has been placing orders via my online store and I have absolutely no record of anything on my end. I'm just trying to figure out what could be going on. thanks!
I'm fairly confident that in your case the third-party imports are from your online store. I looked through several of my online only customers and they're all listed as being created by a third-party import.
It seems like a misnomer. I'm not sure if this is a relic of when Weebly was merged into Square, or if Square has some type of legal obligation to note that these customers were not created directly through Square Point of Sale or the Dashboard.
As for having no records of this customer's purchases through your online store, were they able to send you a receipt? That certainly sounds strange and I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would make successful transactions not appear in your order manager or the customer's transaction history.
thank you so much for your reply. That makes sense about the third party imports. As for the customer's purchase, I'm uncertain why it doesn't appear either. I've asked her for this information, but when she didn't provide it I can't press the issue. I was searching on my end for anything that looked out of the ordinary and noticed the third party. Just trying to play sleuth. thank again!
