I cannot believe this is not already a feature.
Tickets sync.
Items sync.
Transactions sync.
Taking payments in offline mode sync.
But contacts don't sync?? Wwewhat!?
When the app only works on offline mode, you cannot add a customer to a ticket. There is way more storage than necessary on an iPad, and this isn't already a feature? And nobody has created this feature request yet? I'm the first!?

Have you tried exporting and importing your customers to the other locations?
Check out this Support Article with more information on how to do this. Please let me know if you were looking for something different in the meantime.

Not exactly what your issue is, but I create all new customers in Google Contacts. Getting them to sync with Square doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen anytime soon.
I was just manually adding each to Square as I needed to invoice (several a week), but here’s what has saved me some time — something I just figured out.
Instead of creating a new customer with a CSV file, do this:
+ New customer
… File upload
Simply select from your phone/ipad contact list and all the corresponding fields will be populated. (I’m not sure how I got to the contact screen, if that’s not the default? Sorry)
No, they won’t update, but at least there’s no re-typing. Hope that helps someone !
