Square plus required for all locations

The new upgrade to Square plus has hurt our business and I am frustrated. We  are a non profit bowling alley and movie theater. I have one lactation for the theater and another location for the bowling alley. We use the loyalty program at the bowling alley and we were paying $45 a month to have it. So when they said we had to upgrade to square plus for $49 but it included the loyalty program I was fine with that. Well it turned out you have to upgrade all locations so instead of $49 it is now $98. We do not use the loyalty program at the theater and we are not going to implement it. Therefore I had to cancel our loyalty program which is supposed to be paid for through February, so I lost that money, and my customers are not happy about it. Please let us upgrade by location.

I totally get why location-based upgrades would make more sense for your business model, especially as a non-profit with two different operations. This is actually really valuable feedback, and I'd encourage you to share this directly with our product team through the community or by contacting Square Support, because these kinds of use cases really do help shape how we build features.

 

In the meantime, is there anything else about Square Plus that IS working well for you? And if the loyalty program isn't the right fit for the theater location, that's totally okay, you can always just use the core features there. But I'd love to help you think through whether there's a better plan structure for your business right now or where you can utilize the features of Square Plus at the theater location.
