Questions around being able to advertise CBD products

I own a small skincare company in Seattle. We are struggling with marketing despite having thousands of customers on square as you refuse to let us use (we already pay for the marketing services) text messaging as we create and sell 3 CBD items (Lab tested 100% pure CBD -ZERO THC) These products are for body and bath are inedible (you would be really hard pressed to eat a bath bomb) yet we lose business opportunities because of this. I have an amazing rep but he has been unable to get any answers for us. Can you please explain why selling 3 out of hundreds of other items, that are completely legal in every state and sold in many CVS drug stores yet Square is disabling our ability to advertise the rest of our products. Everyone has a choice to use or not use our products but not allowing us to reach our customer base, after being sold this system is really starting to fee like a bait and switch. Any enlightenment would be really grateful. Thank you!

Square Champion

Hello @BuddhaBathSales thanks for your post. I'm sorry you're having trouble with this, and that you have been losing business. Do you participate in Square's CBD program? I think any Square seller who sells any item containing CBD has to participate.

If you are not currently in the CBD program, you can apply for the program. If you are new to Square, please create an account using their CBD sign-up page.

If you already have an account, please navigate to Pricing & Subscriptions in your online Square Dashboard to apply for the program under the Optional Programs section.

I have been in the orogram since day one -however-they discriminate universally aganst anyone who sells CBD as if we sell alchohol/tobacco/firearms/THC. We sell soap and skincare. Its ridiculous. The program auto denies us access to any text messaging; despite the fact that I pay for monthly marketing (I should have a separate rate if I cannot access 1/2 the benefits) because we are registered to sell CBD.

@BuddhaBathSales Sellers in these categories are more likely to be affected by a rule called SHAFT-C. This acronym stands for sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, and tobacco/cannabis. SHAFT-C was created by the CTIA, an association of mobile carriers who create best practices and requirements for text message marketing.
