Making custom fields searchable

I have read several comments about making custom fields searchable, but it looks like that has not happened yet.  

I have put a custom field in my customer directory "bidder number" and I would like to hand enter a number for each attendee at my event.  

However, this is only helpful if I can search for the guest's number, to then send them an invoice.  

I saw a response that understood the dilemma, and said that you would have to download a report and sort by that, and yes, we can do that if need be, but wouldn't making custom fields searchable be sooo much better?  Even one of the fields, like text.

Anyone know the status on this?  Thanks!

At this time, I don't have any updates on this being released. I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers with similar interest in your request. 

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).
