I was considering doing a loyalty program but I have 4 "locations" i.e. I have 4 different points of sale within the same business because they all have different items pertaining to what they are selling. Example: I have a snack bar location for food sales, and Gate location for admission sales, etc. They are all different "locations" but they are all within the same building.
I want to do a loyalty program but it says I have to pay $45 for each location, but they are all in the one location. Is there a way to only pay for one loyalty program to work on all point of sales registers which technically have different "locations?"
This depends on how you Set up your Square back Office for these points of Sale. I have 3 Points of Sale all at one place (Location).
Devices Should not be setup as a Location because then that would appear as Different Locations not different Points Of Sale.
I understand that Each POS (Point Of Sale) sells certain Items but you can have each one under a Location. Have favorites Tabs for items sold at
1) snack bar
2) Gate
3) ETC 1
4) Etc 2
Whoever is working at Gate can have the Gate Tab open, but yes could still sell admissions or Food etc 1 or etc 2 items also.
Is there a reason you are making sure that your sales associates do not sell food at the Gate? They should not ring up food and would appear on a receipt when they are taking payments for admission.
You can still filter Sales by Device if you call the Devices Snack Bar, Admissions, Etc 1 and Etc 2. And then if you Disable all but 1 location I think you might only get charged the $45 for 1 location.

I use 3 device codes for 1 location.
The problem is that you can not delete a Location only Hide it or whatever the term is for disabeling it. I still see my Wholesale Location that I disabled in 2020. Was thinking that I could set different prices there just for Wholesale accounts. I did not like it so i disabled it.

I don’t understand setting up multiple points of sale at one location. Square told me I had to set up each point of sale as a different location if they were going to sell different items. The gate doesn’t sell food because they don’t have food there. It is only for admission sales.
Just because an Item is in your catalog does not mean that POS has to sell it, it just means It CAN sell it.
If all your POS are set up as Retail or just the POS app download the Square for Resturants app on a Ipad or Iphone. The screens are different BUT you should see the same items. Locations you can tell Square this or that Item is not for sale, but if you setup Favorites each can open a Different Favorite tab to show a few items you can tap to charge customers .

You may need to have a Catgory as Gate and list items that sell at the Gate, Have a Category as Food Stand put your Foods there.... etc for you other 2 POS areas.
I know people that use Square and at one POS they run the Square for Retail app and at another POS they run the Square for Resturants app. You can use the Free versions of both of these with a few less features.

I have been using Square since 2019, when I try to do something and Square Support says its not possible. I come here to the Forums. There are smart People here that have figured out ways to make things work that I have not thought of. These are called Work Arounds. I even created a Scanable Coupon workaround for myself. Worked for tracking where an add for free votives was coming from.
If you go to your Square Dashboard you will see One Catalog of all your current items just some only say for sale at Gate, or Food Stand etc... but it is all one catalog. The only difference I am saying is with devices it would show ALL items available to sell at all POS, but you can put different items as a favorite on the device.
So on device 1 when you go accross Favorites tap on Gate, that will list items in the Gate Category, On the Food POS select Food under Favorites.... this will list all foods, but if at the Foods POS you Tap Gate Favorite you could sell an admission ticket. Same with the other 2 POS areas. I will try to do a video tomorrow if I can on my Square Stands.
Ok thanks. I'm gonna dink with it some tonight but a video would be super helpful. Don't feel obligated to do it just for me though lol. Thanks!
Ok I got it working. I created different favorites pages as you suggested. Then I signed out every device and resigned them in with Device Codes with their designated nickname. It seems to work, but there are few things I notice immediately that I don't like. When I click on "transactions" it lists EVERY transaction for the location, not just the device, and it seems there is no way to filter that. Also running reports is a bit more confusing and I'm gonna have to find a way to show separate card sales and cash sales by device. I like to see how much cash/card I make at each POS instead of total sales. But other than that now I have everything under one location...NOW to figure out the loyalty thing and see if I want to pursue it.
Good job getting these all setup.
You would be correct that when you select transactions it lists all transactions for that Location and not just for that device from the App. Now you can set up permissions for team members so that can not see Transactions or Reports. You can set 2 permissions for free. For my 2 free permissions I have them basically as Owner, Staff. I have staff limited and can not see much where as owner I can see more.

As for Reports on the POS, I do not check them much except to see how overall I am doing for the Day. When I want to see reports by Device in Square I use a computer and goto my Square Dashboard Reports Summary.
here : https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/reports/sales-summary
Dashboard > Reports >Summary
At the top Right it has 'Filter By'... You get a drop dow to choose by device nickname.... When you select that then you get a new tab "Device Name" on the left. When you select that another drop down of All your Device names plus All and none I believe. This shows sales by each device. You can also export these to Excel or CSV to use a spreadsheet for better control.
Keep asking and the forum can get you all setup 🙂
Thanks for all your help!
I don't understand setting up multiple Points of Sale at one location. This is the way Square Support told me I had to do it if I was selling different items at different terminals. We don't sell food at the gate because there isn't any there. It is for admission only.
