We do givebacks for local organizations and allow them to order on line and still count towards there total. 20% of all sales go back to the organizations on the day of the event for everyone that brings in a flyer. We used to be able to create a coupon code and do custom amount for 1 cent and that code would be how we flagged the online orders for the giveback. with recent updates you can no longer make a 1 cent coupon code minimum is $1. We have been setting it for 1% but this is always more then the 1 cent option did before. Has anyone found a work around to tag these checks online to be able to track easily for these type of events?
Thanks
Scott
Hi there, @Scottb110
First, yup, that is one of the potential pitfalls of setting up a work-around that uses a feature in a way it was not designed to be used. More often than not, Square eventually makes changes that breaks our work-arounds. Trust me, I've been on the receiving end of a couple of those, myself. I have scoured Square Help and done a few trials of my own. Unfortunately, nothing I researched or tested worked. I kept running into a roadblock. Either that or any possible work-arounds I could come up with would add extra steps for each item added to an online store cart.
I'm sorry, but I tried.
@Scottb110 If I wake up at 3am and think of something, I'll post it here tomorrow! Ha
