I have tried to find a way so that the manager can receive verification codes on his phone as well but with no luck. Does anyone know if this can be done and if so could you please explain the process to me. I am the owner and I am not always around when they need these codes.
@Queen_of_desotoI think this is where Team Management comes in. I use it, and generally speaking, it gives you control over permissions for each account.
Right now, it sounds like you’re just using your owner account and letting a manager log in, which works—but there are limits. I haven’t checked recently whether Square allows 2 phone numbers or you to use an authenticator app instead, but if so, you might be able to set up two authenticator apps with the same seed code. Not 100% sure on that.
That said, I’d strongly recommend setting up Team Management even though it costs a little extra. From my experience, the security is worth it. If something ever goes wrong, you don’t want to be locked out because an employee was using your credentials. With Team Management, only the account owner can change banking information—so even if you give a team member full access, they can’t touch your banking details, which is critical.
Hi there @Queen_of_desoto.. Here's the article on two-step verification. It states that we can now have more than one phone number to receive these codes, and gives the steps for doing this. Also, you have two options for this -- you can use SMS texts, or you can set up a verification app on your Square account that you and your managers can share.
