How can I start collecting more emails?

I can see my list of current email subscribers (collected during check-out) but I want to collect more by having customers opt in.

Is there a link I can share on my social media for an easy sign up?

or

Do I have to direct my customers to my website in order to sign up?

Something that we did was set up an email subscription link on our website that would subscribe them to to our square marketing. We then generated a QR code that we put on our tables and around the shop to advertise subscribing to emails to be in the know and to receive special offers. We also copied the link that would take them to that subscription page and blasted that all over our social randomly over the course of about a week. Now we will post it on social once in a while to notify new followers. 

We had a ton of people subscribe to the email. And it is really cool using the Square marketing to see how many people are engaging with the emails and how they are engaging!

So you can go into your customer settings through square dashboard- into Customers- to settings- to email collection. 
In email collection there is a heading titled “Hosted sign up page” that will provide you with a link that you are able to copy and then embed into your website.

From there you would copy the link to that page on your website so people can sign up and they will go to your square marketing email subscribers!

So here is the link to our website. As you scroll you’ll see a little section that says “Stay in the Know” that sign up here button is the embedded link. Feel free to click it and you’ll be promoted to type in your email (you don’t have to obviously) but just so you can see that it takes you to the square marketing subscription.
