We’re working on improving the subscriptions experience across Square, right now you’ll be able to create and sell subscriptions online and soon you’ll be able to create subscriptions from anywhere you sell including through POS.

Thanks for your patience while we worked to get back to you here!

I've taken a look at your subscription link and I can still see the option for a one-time purchase appearing in the link. I've gone ahead and escalated this matter to our Subscription team for further assistance. Once I receive a response, I'll come back to you here with an update.

Regarding the issue with the shipping rate, can you let me know whether this still shows in the cart once an address has been entered into the address field? Correct rates will only update in the cart once the shipping address has been entered.

Per your suggestion, I've added the subscription to the cart and entered a shipping address. The $5 shipping fee is still included in the cost total afterward. Screenshot is attached for your reference.

Please forgive my delay in getting back to you here! It looks like this one slipped through the cracks while I was on leave! 😓


Following our team's review of your link, it's been confirmed that you're currently using a newer checkout link experience, where Square Online Checkout Links now have distinct settings separate from those in Square Online. So, the shipping and item settings you're referring to from your Square Online dashboard only affect those items on your Square Online site. These settings won't apply to your checkout links.

All settings for checkout links are managed in your main Square Dashboard under Payment Links. Currently, there's no option to create subscription-only link using the "sell an item" link type. You would need to recreate it as a "collect a payment" link. 

If you want to offer free shipping on the link, you could set that up in your Square Dashboard under Payments > Payment Links > Settings > General > Fulfillment


Unfortunately, I'm unable to test these recommendations on my end as I'm using an older experience for checkout links. However, I encourage you to give them a try, and if you encounter any issues, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'll pass your feedback back to the team, and we can explore alternative solutions for you if needed.

I'm checking in with a couple of Subscription Plan questions:

 

1. Subscription Reminders

Has auto-deployed email / text notification to customers about next subscription shipment been developed? 

 

2. Subscription Plan Billing Date

I created a Plan with billing date set to the 1st of the month.

I purchased a subscription item that is assigned to this Plan on my Square Online store on 5/15.

After checkout, the on-screen receipt shows Next billing date: June 15

When I press "Manage subscription" on this receipt, the Subscription details screen shows Next billing: June 1 which aligns correctly with the Plan billing setting. 

Is it possible to show the correct Next billing date on the online post-purchase receipt?
