iPhone 7 headphone jack

Hello all. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and in order for me to connect the square I use an extension to plug into the headphone jack. My phone is not picking up the square. My husbands iPhone 6 works where the square is directly inserted into the microphone jack. Please help. Is my phone not compatible? It says it should work but it’s not!

There should be no issue in using our chip card reader with your iPhone 7 Plus, provided you're using your Lightning to audio jack adapter.
