Hi Square Support Team,
I am writing to request an essential feature improvement for Square for Retail regarding how the platform handles promotional pricing and flyers.
Currently, running a large weekly flyer (containing 50+ items) is incredibly difficult to manage. Creating individual percentage-based or automatic dollar discounts is tedious and often doesn't align with exact, arbitrary flyer prices. On the other hand, using "Variable Amount" discounts completely slows down the checkout lines and forces cashiers to memorize flyer prices, leading to human error.
We urgently need a native "Price Rule" feature or a promotional matrix built directly into the Discounts tool where we can:
1. Select multiple specific products.
2. Input a temporary, fixed sale price for each individual product (e.g., changing an item from $19.99 to $14.99).
3. Schedule a strict start and end date/time so the prices automatically revert back to retail when the flyer ends.
As a high-volume retail store, having to export our entire item library, manually modify spreadsheets, and re-import them every single week just to run a standard flyer is highly inefficient.
Please pass this feedback along to your product development team, as a scheduled, item-specific promotional price feature is a standard necessity for retail operations.
Thank you,
Square Community
