Why do I get charged gst with each transaction and my friend with her square doesn't???

To clarify, the GST amount shown in your daily sales summary is not a deduction. It is simply showing the proportion of your sale(s) that you have designated as tax, for record keeping purposes. Feel free to correlate your deposit amounts sent to your bank account to confirm this.

By default, all Square accounts have GST enabled. For instructions to disable it, visit our Support Centre. You can turn GST on or off altogether for custom amounts entered via the keypad, or if you have an item inventory set up you can turn GST on or off on a per-item basis.
