I was told to put this on the community board - by a Square support agent - as it will be the only way it will get seen by management!
Whatever I do, no matter if an item only has ONE available - and inventory is logged and tracked - a customer can put an unlimited quantity (20 for example) in their cart.
They are only THEN told at the basket page that they can't check out and to amend their basket!
This needs to change!
This is appalling as customers could be very disheartened.
It is also very difficult when it comes to items that have multiple variations, as say there is 3 of each variety and they choose 5 different ones, two of which they want 4 of... the basket won't say which one needs reducing...
It is so ridiculous and needs changing!
I am so sure it didn't used to be an issue, as I am sure I did manage to limit the quantity (but that could have been for an event item, so, purchasing a ticket) - but it certainly is now, that's for sure!
I know there is a 'work around', but this should not be and needs to be addressed!
what is even more frustrating is this use to be the case..
