Square has incredible capability and continues to evolve quickly. There is definitely a learning curve, but regular daily use and exploration really help unlock its full potential. With something this dynamic and technically complex, occasional hiccups can happen — which is why the community forum is so valuable for support, ideas, and shared solutions for the platform and even business itself.
The Square team does a good job balancing constant improvement with stability, and considering the depth of functionality, it remains very affordable for what it offers. Some newer features (including beta releases that help work out quirks before full rollout) include:
- Photo editing on iOS and Android
- Improved reporting tools
- Enhanced bulk item editing
- Packages/combos under items
- Adding items from the register, with some barcode auto-populating fields, images, and descriptions
- Different pricing online vs. in-store
- Custom payment types
- Square AI
- Invoicing and estimates
- Easy, reliable credit card processing
I’m currently using Square for Retail Plus and Invoices Plus, and the continued enhancements make it a powerful. Practice makes perfect. But I would like a training module for the register side of it, so practice could make perfect for new hires and even seasoned veterans like myself.
