Square for Restaurant or Square for Retail for Takeaway Shop

Hi! I am new to Square. We run a sushi takeaway store where we sell in store and customers pick up the sushi and bring to the counter and pay. We also allow customers to pre-order online and pick up in store. We have been recommended to use Square for Restaurant for POS. However when we have set it up after purchasing the Square Register, we found that the screen is not too user friendly with the key pad on the left side. Instead, as we see the sample picture for Square for Point of Sale or Square for Retail, those POS menu looks much easier to use than the Restaurant version (especially it even shows the picture of the item).

Can you please advise if Square for Restaurant is suitable for my business? What is the main benefit of using Square for Restaurant? Note, my shop is a pure takeaway store with no table settings.

or Can I use Square for Retail or Square for Point of Sale whilst I can use the Square for Restaurant version for the online website? If so, how do I go about doing that?

You can certainly use the Square Point of Sale app instead of Square Restaurants if you're running a take-away store. From what you're describing, this would be better suited to your day-to-day operations. 

When you sign out of your Square Register, and sign back in, you should see an option to choose which interface you'd like to use. Please let us know how you go!
