Hello,
I am new to Square, and I am located in the USA.
When I try to enter my address to verify my identity, it only allows Canadian addresses to be entered.
Has anyone encountered this before, if so, is there a way to fix this, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!
Hey @PirateMassage, it sounds like you have signed up for a Canadian Square account instead of a US one, which is why you are being asked for a Canadian address to verify your identity.
There isn't a way of changing this — you'd need to sign up and create your account from scratch again. Here's the link to create a a US Square account https://app.squareup.com/signup/en-us
Something to note: if you wish to re-use your email adddress to sign up again, you'll need to update the email on this account (the incorrect Canadian one) to something else so your email can be free up.
Let me know if you run into any issue!
I see I have a Canada flag next to my name here. How do I change this?

Thanks for the reply, Tra. Do you know how this happened? I certainly didn't select Canada at any point when setting up this account.
I actually created another account, but I had to create a new email address to do so, so I appreciate the tip about updating it on this account so I can use it on the other! Hopefully I can change the other account.
Thanks again!
Glad I could help @PirateMassage! It might have been that the link you got were already locked to Canada so it just lead you down that flow, rather than letting you choose the country to sign up.
Well, that's annoying. Perhaps Square could make choosing the country the first thing that happens when creating an account regardless of the link used?
Thanks again for the help. I'm going to mark this solved and pretend this account never existed.
