Payment Location

Hi. Does SquareUp have a function where we can see the location a payment has been made? I’m a taxi driver and I think such a function would be helpful. A recent incident occurred where a driver at my company found a credit card in the back of his taxi and he paid himself a sum of money. When he was brought in for questioning regarding the theft of money he was not willing to share the activity of his card payments. He is using SumUp and they show the location of where payments are made.

This sounds like a terrible experience for any business owner. 

Unfortunately, we don't have a way to trace where a transaction was processed at this time. 

The best option may be to contact the bank the card belongs to, to try and trace the owner. 

Hopefully, you'll be able to get this all sorted out quickly.

Hi. Thank you for your quick reply. I’m asking more so as a bit of extra function that SquareUp should offer. Like a geo tag. SumUp has this functionality and while it could be a useless piece of information for many it’s something that can be used positively. 

Scenario ; in my trade we are first point of call in a missing persons enquiry with the police. Being able to pin point where a payment has been made could be crucial.

I would headover to the ideate section on the forum and submit a feature request. It might be something that other sellers have already suggested and if not it will highlight a feature for possible development.
